Mt. Fuji & Lake Kawaguchiko
Mt. Fuji, 3,776 m height and perfect cone shape volcano, is the symbol of Japan and world famous mountain. Many visitors want to climb the mountain during summer season (July and August) in order to see the sunrise from the top. There is a toll road named Fuji-Subaru-Line to the 5th station at the level of 2,305 m, and visitors can easily access by one day trip from Tokyo. There are 5 lakes at the foot of Mt. Fuji, where visitors can experience many kinds of the natures and their beauties as well as the magnificent view of Mt. Fuji. Lake Kawaguchiko is the base place for exploring Mt. Fuji area and can be accessible for 2 hrs from Tokyo by highway express bus.
As the sightseeing spots are widely spread in this area, visitors may select the places of interest. For example, visitors who want to go to 5th station may spend morning there and visit one or two places around Lake Kawaguchiko area in the afternoon. Visitors who are not going to the 5th station can cover the natures around Lake Saiko in addition to the places around Lake Kawaguchiko.

What you can expect during the tour
5th station of Mt. Fuji
Mt Fuji is very popular for trekking during summer time in July and August in order to see the sunrise from the mountain top. The trekking road is closed except these 2 months, so 5th station is the highest place (2,305 m) where you can come.
Lake Kawaguchiko
You can see the most beautiful scenery of Mt. Fuji with the reflection on the surface of lake. Cruse at Lake Kawaguchiko (around 20 min) is a nice attraction. Climbing up Kachikachi hill by Fuji Panorama Ropeway may give you the magnificent view of Mt. Fuji.
North area of Lake Kawaguchi
There are many museums and parks around Lake Kawaguchiko area. Oishi park, located at north of the lake, has beautiful garden and one of the best picture spot, combining the Lake, Mt. Fuji and flowers.
Kubota Ichiku Museum is very famous for its collection of kimono, Japanese traditional costume. Kawaguchiko Museum of Art and Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum are also nice.
Arakurayama Sengen park
You can see the magnificent view of Mt Fuji with 5 story pagoda in front. This location is very famous for forign visitors as a nice picture spot.
Oshino Hakkai springs (8 clear ponds)
Natural monument consists of 8 very beautiful spring ponds originated from the underground water of Mt. Fuji. The small village has the history and legends of the ancient sacred sites of the Fuji faith. Because of the sacred ground of Fuji faith and scenic waterscape, Oshino Hakkai is listed as a part of the World Heritage. There is also a Ninja performance amusement park in this area.
Saiko Iyashinomori Nenba (folk village)
Many local farmers houses in Nenba area were damaged by the typhoon in 1966. Many traditional houses with thatched roofs were reconstructed in 2006. The area is a tourist spot because of its beauty of natural scenery and thatched houses in perfect harmony. Visitors can experience many kinds of artistic handcrafts.
Ice cave, Wind cave & Aokigahara forest (dense woodland) trekking
Very dense forest is spread at the foot of Mt.Fuji, and many caves are located. Wind cave and Ice cave are the most famous and popular for the tourists because of their accessibility (many caves are not open to the public). These caves are located near Saiko-lake (there are five lakes around Mt. Fuji). It takes around 30 minutes from Kawaguchiko-lake. Exploring two caves & nature walking takes 90 – 120 minutes.
